My Roblox account turned 10 years old today! 2015 was the year I really started to use the Internet and began building an online presence. I don't touch the site anymore, but I still like modding my avatar into games(though I haven't gotten too many new games as of recent...)

I've had a Framework 16 for a little over a month now (it arrived 2/5). Here's my thoughts on it currently.

Good:
- Battery Life is awesome, though I was going from a gaming laptop so my standards were pretty much last longer than 5 mintues off charge.

I feel really conflicted rn about 小红书.

One one hand, it's prolly a VERY good way to help me practice Mandarin while I'm picking it back up again during college (I learned it thru 3rd-12th grade). On the other, I feel I'd be walking a VERY fine line when I'd speak/post about anything. [1/2]

I became a YIIK fan as an April Fools joke in 2022. Then I kept it up for a year, got two separate people to buy the game while I never actually played it, and got actually hyped for I.V's release since there was an SRB2P mod that would release alongside it.

I take April Fools seriously.

Next year, I’ll make this again but put an arduino hooked up to a speaker and motion detector inside it. It will do the Wega scream every time it detects movement.

I'm saving up for a framework 16, but theres only some linux distros that support its hardware. I'm considering using bedrock linux to base my install on Fedora 40 to get the drivers, then have Arch installed for all the AUR packages I use(like compiled Aseprite). [1/2]

How feasible would it be to use a raspberry pi model 2 B to host a bluesky pds? I know some people have already done it with later models but I haven’t seen anything on how viable the earlier models are for this task.

I tried using Typst to write up a small Computer Engineering related lab report. The experience felt pretty great, but mixing electrical circuits with logic gates was a no go. I'll have to stick with LaTEX for now but I'll keep my eye out as the packages develop.

Guess we won’t need to get a fan translation! Very exciting to see The New Denpa Men announced in the latest direct. They did mention it was a timed exclusive though, I wonder what other platforms they will be putting this game on?

I played and beat the three main games on the 3DS, and then I helped get a translation project started for the f2p game that was also on the 3DS. Hopefully I can get this one translated as well when it releases!

Modding scenes that are capable of code injection can have some of the coolest mods out there, but what if two mods try editing the same thing at once?

One day I'll be able to get this FBX importer library working with Dlang...It's a little too macro and ifdef heavy for importC atm, but with it I could finally give that one Persona 5 Strikers mod I made back in 2021 some skeletal rigging.

I don’t think open world Pikmin would work well if you use the AAA style of open worlds. Pikmin thrives on the smaller-scope, but detail rich maps. Maybe if you made the usual style of maps, but add connections between other areas, then you’d get something interesting.
Would an open world Pikmin game work?

I could never get the C++/C interop in Dlang working in all the time I have used it. A guy who knew the language tried helping me with this for 2 weeks and it didn't work. Somehow running Dlang code on a Gamecube was an easier time than that.

Ever since I started modding, it's been a moral imperative for me to replace the player character with my old Roblox avatar in whatever game I decide to mod. I did the below model swap back in 2020, and so far I've done this to around 8 games. I don't intend to stop anytime soon.

When I was first making Pikmin 2 mods with code injection. I had to use weird tricks to access C++ classes and objects through C headers. Nowadays I can use a decompilation of Pikmin 2 to do what I want, but I still feel nostalgic for this stuff(It doesn't make it any less terrible though).
