BTW, Lodum is the first code I've released publicly in decades. I'm actually a bit nervous about how it might be received.

Okay, so your degree is in English and communication, specializing in Science Fiction, right?
There is work in the tech sector for documentation writers. And sometimes the documentation gets written *first* to guide the development work (which is a kind of SF).
But there are other options.

I just got the impression that OGH has a pen, likes it, and enjoys using it. But that's all he said. That doesn't preclude him being a hobbyist, but neither does it indicate that he is one. Perhaps I shouldn't read as much into that as I did.

I guess when I hear "hobbyist" what goes through my head is something like "collector". Like, I have and use a pocket multitool, but wouldn't ever describe myself as a multitool hobbyist or even an enthusiast. I appreciate the one I have, I know what I like about it, but that's as far as it goes.

I actually traced back a SUPREMELY absurd misinterpretation of a medieval hat, one with impossible construction, to a single 1711 drawing of a crumbling statue that had clearly, from contextual clues, been missing some critical parts, and has since disintegrated so cannot be checked...
