wrong

I smack you with Claire Hummel's immaculate and detailed understanding of costume design, which she got by studying historical references, which made her strong, which you will not become by relying on AI

“Randomizing newborns to no hepatitis B vaccine at birth in order to evaluate “overall health effects” of an intervention whose primary benefit is already known is indefensible. When benefit is established, withholding an intervention is no longer neutral experimentation; [it is] premeditated harm”
The planned hepatitis B birth-dose trial in Guinea-Bissau raises serious ethical concerns. Withholding a proven, life-saving vaccine from newborns to answer speculative questions is an absence of equipoise with real downstream harms for trust in vaccines.

I'm not familiar with the rest of them but Shapeshifters.co is a TINY business and made all of my binders before I had top surgery. They're amazing and don't have lawyer money I suspect because: tiny.

We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

A nice obituary for Alice, who was going to be recognized as one of The Post 50.

I hate that we now have to live without this phenomenal woman.

@brunodias.bsky.social In you're Knowledge Games Landscape post, you missed out on mentioning Toki Tori 2+

Which appears like a metroidvania, but is actually a Knowledge game as well. (You start with all skills possible, and have to figure out everything else's behavior to your moves ect.)

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

I'm curious: What's your favorite Clive Barker movie adaptation?

Really loved Murderbot. Like a lot of folks last week before renewal was announced, I feared we'd get a cliffhanger and not a satisfying arc, but they really stuck the landing....

What a triumph. A love letter to the horror and absurdity of being human.
