Daughter leans in towards her reflection in a mirror, both hands at her face as she pries her left eye open wide to examine it; the edge of the iris has become dark and indistinct, bleeding into and turning the sclera almost wholly black, like a spreading corruption. There is precedent for strangeness with her eyes--her pupils already gleam with the green-gold of tapetum lucidum, belying her uncannily keen eyesight--but this is a new development.

1: Drakengard. fundamentally affected my brain chemistry. it's dark, weird, tragic and gross, full of yoko taro's brand of people-being-terrible-but-trying-anyway, the fundamental struggle to live and keep living even if it's not good or better
