The OA

Descent has a small but active community, mostly in the “r/Descent” and “Descent Developer” Discords. User ProxyOne recently released a beta of their Inferno Engine, which is a from-scratch rebuild of Descent 1 & 2 singleplayer with modern lighting, effects, and gameplay rebalances. It’s amazing.

The players were definitely concerned about the refugee tokens, and enemies clogging up choke points + fear of opportunity attacks ground things to a halt sometimes.

It took so many rounds. I did realize we did turn order wrong, we cycled first player clockwise with turn order instead of CCW. Other than that, maybe my players were overly cautious? They did tend to take their time clearing out rooms while enemies continues to spawn.

I did! I was learning the ropes in preparation for introducing it to the gang tomorrow night 😎

I’m an amateur designing my first game on the side (on and off, it’s taking a while). But applying to be a mentee could be fascinating and inspiring - is this program for me? (I understand if it’s not!)

We’ve been doing the same program with our 1yo (now almost 2) for his peanut allergy and it has been amazing how smoothly it has gone!
