The ancient Persians* divided the world into three, with Persia at the centre. Anything east was Asia, anything west was Europe, anything south of the sea was Africa. We just kept that. This is why Europeans were confused about whether "Persia" is middle east or near east.

Are the United Nations going to send election observers to the US elections in '26 and '28?
They need to.
I can't see that they'll be free and fair. I have heard that '24 was problematic.
The USA won't be fixed until they elect a bunch of new Democrats. I perceive mistrust in the current leaders.

If we're worried about the population, just import more migrants. They're keen to come and many are already job-ready.

"20 minutes by fast ferry" say the real estate agents. More like an hour when you factor in parking. People are buying because it's cheap, 90 minutes from the Brisbane city centre. But then, "I hate the ferry, we need a bridge" and there's name calling and someone flounces off to create a new group.

It's just occurred to me - Trump isn't afraid of impeachment because it's happened to him before with no consequences. It's like bankruptcy. Do the paperwork, then continue unimpeded.
He's never faced serious repercussions.
Fight him on his level. Like Newsom's tweets, but harder.

Producers around the world prefer stability. Talk of tariffs at random variable rates have meant that products are less likely to be sold to the USA. The US economy isn't going to bounce back when you change government. You are going to have to re-establish trust.
