Literally, breakfast:
May 9, 2025 at 12:42 AM
The birds invited me to breakfast today and I was delighted to accept.

I have to keep my eyes on the sky because if not my knees will buckle on the ground.

I don’t know if I find them or they find me but I’m grateful.

Training your spirit to look for beauty while loving through hard things.

Can you find them? There is one in each photo.

I met an artist in New Haven whose work called my heart in. Anyway, bought myself a 50th birthday present she is working on. And in the meantime I have this at home. I call her “total praise”.

Www.clinard.org for more on the artist.

Thank you, artists.

Blessed and gentle birthday to the rock of our small family.

A dad who got up … continued work, got a doctorate, wrote his children a million songs often without anyone asking, “how are you?”

Because we do this to bereaved fathers a lot.

Blessed 50th birthday, Dr. Jimmy Greene.

I told my husband when I pass on - don’t do a slide show of me just do a slide show of my bird pics and he just shook his head.

On the weekends I bird for beauty. And today I saw four bald eagles. I can’t wait to get these off my camera.

I needed this. 💜

“From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep your land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!”

We love you, old friends. Keep yourselves safe by any means. I am unsure that we here can.

Love,

I imagine a world where so many people weren’t so virulently racist … we could actually live in peace.

Good night everyone… and grievers especially.

Then there was this little one.

I think this is a blue heron.

Even when I have trouble seeing anything else through the thick choke of evil- I can always find the eagles in the tree and sky.

CT friends:

We have great teachers among us. Come join me next week for this lecture in Norwalk by the brilliant and kind Dr. Uché Blackstock.

Learn about health equity, particular perils for Black women and how she honors her mom.

“Quieren quitarme el río y también la playa
Quieren el barrio mío y que tus hijos se vayan.

No, no suelte' la bandera ni olvide' el lelolai.

Que no quiero que hagan contigo lo que le pasó a Hawái.”

Feliz Reyes a todos.

It takes us so much energy to survive the anniversary, Christmas and the new year feel extra challenging.

They do have good moments. Family, faith, food, friends always make things bright.

Your love reaches us deeply.

Thank you.

I can’t believe Christmas happened so quickly. The anticipation was great but the actual moments went so quickly.

I have a feeling this is what we might all say, near the end of our time.

The anticipation was great but the moments went so quickly.

Praying and working for peace in 2025.
