yes, a friend who's a dev has had Co-pilot pushed out at the insistence of the parent company rather than local studio management. He's not keen on it along with many colleagues and it doesn't do anything for him - he's on Mission design but suspect the teams will be pushed hard to use it.

Older versions would just use a generic this is town, use repeating town texture/layout - 2020 on wards places buildings on top of the photo map texture, it does sometimes get things very wrong with random sky scrapers. I think it's Data Analysis AI output auto placing premade models

I know Microsoft Flightsim uses AI for object placement but when they are doing the whole world they need some procedural generation - (IIRC they used AI on Bing Maps Aerial images and Openstreetmap to identify land use/biomes for automated scenery placement away from airports)
