There's Buenos Aires, Helsinki and Madrid things as well. Not remotely familiar with south American or Spanish horror.

Knowing what this movie is about, there are a lot of directions it could have gone but Dana chose the book.

This movie does do a nice job of "Show, don't tell". It isn't spelled out what the facility is doing but it's clear that they're the control room for something manipulative.

And here are the victims - I think it's well signposted that this is essentially Friday The 13th with the serial numbers filed off, so it's not really giving anything away to describe them as such.

The facility is stocked with recognisable TV actors... There's the dad from Six Feet Under, Josh from The West Wing, and Fred from Angel.

There's something to be said for these silly Disney family comedies.
Director/Choreographer Kenny Ortega later did the Descendants movies. Very similar feel there!

Thackery is definitely a lot more convincing a talking cat than Salem in Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
