Hard to think of another example where such an enormous use of resources went into something for so little result.

This is going to be a historical failure. The South Sea Bubble, etc, will pale into comparison, and the environmental and social cost will be ruinous for many nations.

V appropriate as Colmcille was a bit of a notorious dose who fell out with virtually all his contemporaries and ended up getting booted out.

Though I have a soft spot for him.

More maol in the sense of 'servant of', though it did derive from being tonsured, so baldy is correct too. Quite commonly used in early church
