This was such a beautiful checkmate. I had fucked up early on, was 10pts down, hadn’t castled and my opponent was closing in. I spotted his king’s weakness and hail mary’d it with a counter he should have seen coming. But when you think you have victory in your grasp you’re not looking for threats

One thing that’s significantly improved my #chess results is switching from 10min games to 15mins. Fewer mistakes/blunders, more considered board analysis and so far, no losses from winning positions via bloody timeout! #chesspunks

Things finally clicking it seems. Last 10 rapid games 8 wins, one loss one draw. Elo climbed over 300 (not much I know but…) and the game that did it 1000 rated with no blunders mistakes or misses. Now on to 400. #chesspunks
