I’d have assumed there would be governance around “broad, important thing we do regularly that has the potential to go wrong” which would review all the processes involved. I’ve been involved in the publishing of trade mag annual awards which seemingly took this more seriously than the OBR.

Never too early to educate a child on safe behaviour around pylons, substations, etc

I think some of the local streets that have for, erm, some reason, African names (your Zangwills, your Ulundis) may also be unique.

We have the only Ha-Ha Road in the UK nearby, if Google Maps is to be believed.

7. We are probably doomed to always have a brass band at England games of either team, and I should reconcile myself to this.
8. Wembley’s regular HELP US TO STAMP OUT ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR messages felt entirely incongruous for the occasion.

3. At £15 for adults and £5 for concessions it was decent value, particularly as - unusually for UK cultural attractions in 2025 - 15 yr olds got the concession rate.
4. It was great to see some of the stars of the Euros win playing but I was surprised not to see earlier changes given the context…

Bit of a mismatch but England’s refusal to slacken off was v impressive.

Tried to go there last Sunday afternoon but found it was closed, which was a bit surprising given how busy the surrounding area was.

I usually read it mid-morning when I’m recovering from Parkrun.

It does seem like a real problem (albeit I have proximity bias here!). My parents and in-laws *really* should move out of the houses they brought their families up in, but there are no good options for them to move to, either through suitability of build, proximity to transport or fear of mgmt fees.
