I found this one in a recent purchase. It’s not transferable.

Still a few scruffy apples around - Pitmaston Pineapple I think? - which at this time of year, and after a couple of hard frosts, taste more of pear than anything else.

He’s decided that the best way to negotiate the staircase is by sliding down on his head, and I say don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

Welcoming in the cold snap with a spritz aperitivo, because why not, damn your eyes.

Definitely colder, the cats have moved in for the evening.

A rare appearance of Mozart in Wadebridge (Cornwall) this weekend. I'll be there, but not singing, THANK HEAVENS.

No fireworks here for miles around, (it frightens the livestock), so here’s some bonus Grandpa Ginger content for you.

So one of us (not me) got wrongly imprisoned in a shed for four days. He said he used his time incarcerated to reflect on becoming a better person.

12 September 1910, Munich. The Mahler 8 premiere conducted by the man himself.

Not the smartest of cats.

This is stray fellow Grandpa Ginger, who often gets locked in the garage. I think he does it for the extra breakfasts.

I'm glad Sellers made that movie. Relatedly - or is it? - Chauncey the dog was abandoned by the dastardly Duck Phillips in the leisurely ad-men drama Mad Men. I wondered if there was a tip of the hat from the writers here.

Morning David - happy to have received the full fat version. The solution, I suspect, is to compress your images into smaller files - i.e. the dimensions & appearance will be the same, they'll just use less data. Using Word or Pages on a Mac? Here's how!

An unfortunate incident for a friend on vacation provides AMPLE OPPORTUNITY for a gag about photosynthetic control. Honestly, you can’t buy humour like this.

Oddly enough I was discussing those pineapples today (I have a tree in the garden). Very tasty! Small, sweet & flavoursome.
September 22, 2025 at 5:56 PM
I wonder if this same variety. The tree is around 40 years old, dwarfing, very heavy crop of apples just coming to ripeness. Small, very sweet, plenty of esters. I hadn’t noticed the russeting until you mentioned it.

A somewhat tatty old fox has moved into his greenhouse, which he’s not pleased about. Still, nice enough evening.
September 21, 2025 at 6:15 PM
Four months on from his accident, and he’s as good as new, almost. He’s staying inside for a while yet, though.

How about a grumpy old ginger tom who decided to move in?

Important stray cat news update: somewhat improbably, Wild Jeff, the village’s hardest cat, has found a new home. He’s currently sitting on a sofa (not mine) and purring.
