Wasn’t sure if clouds would cooperate but they did in the end and caught a lovely glimpse of tonight’s “blood moon” total lunar eclipse from Kathmandu!

This level of capitulation only screams fear and blackmail, not alliance or partnership.

This study has a strange conclusion. I'm confused when they say the only negative impact of SO2 is acid rain, and that it is not a problem for India. They go as far as saying sulfur emissions should persist because they cool the planet. Isn't SO2 a harmful pollutant?

That angler fish went through the full cycle— first dragged for its smol size and then turned it into a heartwarming story of reaching for light even with your last breath!

RIP, little fish! You are now immortalised in the internet hall of fame.

Such a mild winter, I didn’t even get static shock once this season. 9 degrees C above average, no wonder.

LOL! I don't think I even posted as much about glaciers but AI has picked up on my obsession somehow and it is hilarious.

Indian cities are very hard to love but I have come to love the city of great contradictions and much heart, Mumbai, thanks to my local friends who patiently showed me the parts of the city they adore. There’s a new movie called All We Imagine As Light, and people are fawning over 1/

Anyone knows what happened to @copernicusecmwf.bsky.social's Global Temperature Trend Monitor page that showed how close we are to hitting 1.5°C, like the image below? Those visuals were super useful and can't seem to find that page now. Is there any similar alternative?

I checked and Twitter has over 300 million active users but this is a cool milestone for BlueSky, it has good potential to replace Twitter and I hope it does!

💯 with Singapore’s founding father, Lee Kuan Yew

I hate air conditioned spaces, hated air conditioned cities like Hong Kong and Macao even more. But I don't see how these tropics or hot countries like India can deal with heat and humidity otherwise. That's just the climate, not even climate change.

The amount of harm this woman is willingly doing to promote her book with unfounded and dangerous claims is mind boggling. I can't wait for everyone to forget this book exists but techno optimists won't ever let this one go!

Oh my god. Losing my mind, this explains everything that is wrong with how economics dealt with climate change, without ever consulting an actual climate scientists.

Another gem by the same emeritus senior fellow at a Stanford Think Tank. smh

Oh my god! It all makes sense now, losing my mind at these old climate change balance sheets and economic theories, without ever bothering to check with actual climate scientists. Another gem by the same emeritus senior fellow! 🤦‍♀️

This from the latest UNEP Emissions Gap 2023 report does a good job of painting an accurate picture, of both past and present contributors to warming.

There's a deep sense of sadness and loneliness seeing this record shattering graph.

November 17, 2023 was the first day in recorded history when the earth's surface was a whole 2°C hotter than pre-industrial times. Yet, there's barely any chatter about this staggering breach.

With new information coming to light, if there ever was someone about whom we could really say “nevertheless she persisted”, it has to be Dr. Katalin Karikó!

Now learning that her supervisor tried to have her deported for accepting a better offer at Johns Hopkins?!

TIL it is way faster and much more effective to write directly to university departments asking for suggestions for expert sources instead of spending hours trawling terrible Google searches or asking ChatGPT to improve its results till it throws its hands up in the air in frustration!
