I really believe that I should have to opt in to AI. I hate having it forced down my throat.

This is so much fun and I'm obsessed. Thanks to J & J Knits for inspiring me and helping me with my French Knots. I'm so excited to see how it comes out. I'm working on a simple hat I made a couple of years ago and really enjoying the whole process.

I'm at the gym actually working out. It turns out I really like working out and I look forward to my gym mornings. Even if they are too bloody early. It's interesting to be rewriting this part of my story.

This has been the plan all along.
- Foment violence and chaos in the streets of MN
- Implement the Insurrection Act
- Declare Martial Law
- Suspend elections

A quiet morning moment. May your tea be warm, your knitting be soothing, and your heart strong as you face this day. 🧶

First finish of 2026! This is the Xanthous Hat by Triona Murphy. I knit this in Malabrigo Mecha. It was a fun & interesting knit. I'll be teaching this as a class at Cozy in Eugene later this month.

Let it be known that today is Brinner Day.

Our family will be having breakfast for dinner - pancakes, breakfast sausage, maybe some eggs.

Will you be celebrating Brinner Day?

If you're in the Eugene/Springfield area and what to learn how to knit a cabled hat, this is your chance! I'm teaching this beautiful hat at Cozy at the end of the month. Link to sign up is in the comments.

I really would like to be knitting or sewing today. But instead I have to get my teeth cleaned and go to Costco. These are the things they don't tell you about when you're looking forward to being an adult.

It's my birthday! That message all my patterns on Ravelry are 25% off through Jan. 13th. Even my new Campaign Party Hats pattern!
January 6, 2026 at 6:26 PM
🧶 Now available on Ravelry and PayHip! The Campaign Party Hat was years in the making. It started as a simple desire to make stocking caps for my family for one Christmas and finally today it has been released into the wild for anyone to enjoy. What colors might you use in this hat?🧶

🧶 Coming soon to a PDF near you! 🧶

The Campaign Party Hat was designed to make colorful and unique stocking hats for everyone in your D&D campaign. It's even easy enough to knit during an exciting TTRPG session.

This pattern will be live on Ravelry and PayHip on Tuesday, so mark your calendar.

Introduction post!
My name is Taylor. I design knitting patterns some of the time and I teach at my LYS other times. I live in Oregon with my husband and three amazing children.

I truly believe that knitting should and can welcome everyone. My goal is to live that belief in my classes and designs.

Of course I also had a New Year Cast On. I'm attempting the Wooly Dozen this year: 12 hats by @woollywormhead.bsky.social in 2026. This is the beginning of hat number one and my new journal.

As promised: the final FO of 2025. A beautiful white shawlette. It's a fluffy angora held with a thread of miniscule white sequins. I can't capture the softness, the halo, or the sparkle.

We switched from black eyed peas to posole for our New Year's Day meal. Which leads me to wonder; what food do you consider lucky or traditional on New Year's Day?

Happy 2026 to my little corner of the internet.

See those stripes? That's a teaser for a new pattern coming out next week! This one has been in the works for a long time and I can't wait to share it with the world. 🧶 ⬇️

My favorite New Year's Day task is figuring out all the details. How many books did I read? How many yards of yarn did I knit? And so on. And then resetting everything to start counting anew.

The greatest part of designing and teaching knitting is seeing people feel good and accomplished about their work.
Ending the year on a high note!
My first brioche project, this is a skill I've been wanting to learn for a while and here it is!

I just want to take a moment to say thank you for the all support, inspiration and for making this year such a special one! 🧶✨

I have somewhere around 100 rows left in this shawl, and the rows are reducing. Can I get it finished and off my needles before 2026?
