I submitted my work, query letter and blurb straight to them. First I got an offer from a smaller publisher, after that I called the bigger houses, telling them I have an offer on the table, which got them interested. I'm currently waiting their counter offers.

Getting published is hard, yes, but if I'd told myself daily, my chances are slim to none, I don't think I would have made it at all.

At least for me, the fear of not going for it, and realizing that too late in life, was simply greater.

So true! The fabled concept of a "towel" in the hitchiker's guide to the galaxy was originally a placeholder, until Douglas Adams decided it was such an absurd bit, it should stay as is.

I reckon emojis and slang are fine in a loose social environment, like here. Heck, I use em! ✌️
But in my actual writing, I am extremely principled.
That being said, reading is in a crisis, with young people doing it less and less.
