So I'm saving TinyFlux data to an SD card with embedded #rustlang. How did I get TinyFlux to work in embedded Rust? I didn't, I'm totally fakin' it by saving specifically formatted lines to a text file. But TinyFlux will happily working with that because TinyFlux is great #python #tinyflux

I like this story a lot. Some dude in Warsaw called the "eco-patrol" about bats on his balcony, and the approx. 20 bats were literally filling the old sneakers he left on said balcony. They were taken to the city forest where they'll be able to peacefully hibernate

On the plus side, I got some first code for RP2350 with Embassy. @raspberrypi.com Pico Debug Probe + @seeedstudio.com Xiao Expansion Board are a great combo for some #rustlang tinkering 🦀

Well, I really like my #rustlang contraption, sending SEN54 data to my small webapp, but I have no clue how to fix the issues it's having with random frequency. It's all about WiFi, at some point I get the RX_QUEUE_FULL warnings from the esp_hal crate, but I don't understand how this whole

It turns out that Sensirion SEN54 sensor is used in the IKEA's VINDSTYRKA air quality monitoring device. A common hack is to put an ESP32 inside, connecting the exposed I2C points to push the sensor data to some website etc. So without really trying I sort of replicated this device, skipping the

OK, this is super weird. Color me puzzled.

I put together this #embedded #rustlang code on ESP32C3/C6 (tested on both) with Embassy, using a Sensirion SEN54 sensor to send data to my REST API. Here's the weird part: the code works, it sends data, but.. the data is wrong. Wrong as in "6553.5" values

How about a movie called "Mon ami Citroen"? 🙃

It may not look like much but: the OLED is displaying data received in from my web app's REST API. The board is @seeedstudio.com Xiao ESP32C6, running #embedded #rustlang with Embassy. The carrier board is from Tindie.

As much as I bitch about this phone, including the camera being super slow sometimes or saying "processing...", sometimes it does a good job.

TFW you forget to add the division by 1_000_000_000 that was in the original function, push the data to Prometheus and all of a sudden your Grafana chart shows "10 ZB" in an S3 bucket :D Exa-ggerated-scale.

Espressif hired a bunch of Rust devs years ago and they have been quietly doing great work supporting Rust on their chips ever since. Still haven’t seen any other chip companies get close.

Hmmm, is there something special about I2C on the ESP32C6? I tried to port this code to the @seeedstudio.com Xiao ESP32C6, used the GPIO numbers provided in the wiki, but... the I2C device won't start. Tried with other devices tested on C3, same thing. But SPI works perfectly fine 🤔

Tinkering with #embedded #rustlang embassy framework and #esp32 is fun 🙃 And the @seeedstudio.com Xiao ESP32C3 with the Xiao expansion board are a perfect platform. Got a DFRobot ENS160 sensor breakout board and a single WS2812 connected, works pretty well. No photo ATM.

It's pretty gloomy out there, some drizzle, but a seagull just shouted something, probably "where's the sea" or similar, and it's time for this:

I checked my photo roll and here are some of the cars that I see out and about every now and then. There's definitely a strong vintage Lancia presence!

Straight outta Torino! Fiat 1500 Vignale casually parked in a small street, super nice burgundy interior with baby blue exterior and white walls. Italian vintage cars association (ASI) plate proudly displayed inside.

I somehow missed "Voodoo" back then, although I do remember seeing the cover in a music magazine, maybe read the review and thought that it wasn't quite my thing. Fast forward 20+ years to when I listened to "Dilla Time" audiobook during a long car trip and I thought, oh right, gotta check it out...
