yw, i find a lot of ppl have not really thought it through, & it's an unpopular opinion bc it IS a way that queer couples expand their family, as is the adoption industry. but both involve a systematized, capitalist-industrial aspect i find repugnant and exploitative of ppl with wombs & children

there's also the physical toll it takes on a woman's body that can't just be waved off with money, the emotional toll of growing a baby and biologically bonding with them and then giving them up, and i strongly disagree with treating women like walking incubators. there's just so much i can't cosign

ok this one's several points: nobody has a right to a child, nobody has a right to someone else's body, impoverished women w/families are usually forced by financial need to be surrogates, surrogacy is not well regulated leading to missing payments for moms & abandoned babies (eg disabled ones), etc
