Just had a little LOL moment. The source of this scandal is people cheating on the electronic time clocks that were installed after the last OT scandal, which had their wires were all mysteriously cut.

Nope. Any passenger use explicitly requires conductor in addition to motorman. (Also requires a conductor for work trains exceeding three cars, tho I don’t know if that’s in the existing work rules).

Also Erickson is just assuming everyone has the memory of a goldfish. The shutdown was the biggest story in the country for a month. It was the lead on the front page of The New York Times as recently as yesterday (Tuesday).
