Compared to later periods, ancient European diplomacy can be an under-studied topic. This makes the IANVA (Environments for dialogue: the spaces of diplomacy in the Roman provincial sphere during the Republic) international research project even more relevant.

One of the last panels of the conference featured Malika Dekkiche, Guido van Meersbergen, and Birgit Tremml-Werner offering valuable insights into early modern Tools of Power in Global Diplomacy, from the Mamluks, to the Mughal Empire, to the Sulu Sultanate.

The second day of #NDH6 has started! This morning, I am attending a panel on "Fictions and Diplomacy", with very promising contributions by Sylvia Tongyan Qiu, Alice Xiang and Luciano Cesar Da Costa! Panels are also on about consuls, water and imperialism, and the legal aspects of diplomacy.
