This #Thanksgiving, the wealthy will have plenty on the table — thanks to upcoming tax cuts.

Meanwhile, thousands of NC families faced uncertainty around food assistance like SNAP. How is this fair for those who are dealing with rising costs on the most basic of necessities?

Thanksgiving under Trump is costing families 10% more than last year. That's more than 3x the rate of inflation.

This Thanksgiving, some households get billion-dollar tax breaks. Others lost food assistance. That’s a choice — and we can choose differently.

Let's fight for a future in NC where the ultra-rich and corporations pay their fair share in taxes!

Yesterday, BTC was present at the Mock Budget Hearing at the #NCGA. We need ALL our lawmakers to pass a state budget that protects us from cuts to the services we rely on.

Here’s one way to do so: pause tax cuts for corporations and the ultra-rich so we have the public $$$ to invest in our future!
November 20, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Stop the tax cuts before Jan 1! North Carolina can't afford to lose $1 billion more in public funding next year. We need those dollars for what matters most in our communities! #LoveNCFundNC #NCPol #NCGA

Let's take care of our future, North Carolina! We need our lawmakers to invest in our community's needs, not continue to give out even more tax breaks to the richest 1%.

We believe in a North Carolina where everyone feels safe, valued, and protected. Our leaders must choose a better path – one that invests in care, not cruelty. And we’ll keep standing with our neighbors until they do. #ncpol

Immigrants strengthen our economy, our communities, and our state. North Carolina is better because immigrants are here.

We’re also seeing everyday North Carolinians show up for their neighbors — delivering food, offering rides, and helping families navigate fear and uncertainty. Today and every day, we stand with our immigrant neighbors who help build communities where we care for each other.

#NCGA leaders' own fiscal staff and state economists have warned that they must stop tax cuts for the rich and corporations, or we won’t have enough money to sustain inadequate levels of investment in state services and fund priorities that NC needs! Stop the tax cuts by Jan 1.

Veterans who’ve served our nation shouldn’t lose care because lawmakers won’t act.

⏰ Congress must extend enhanced premium tax credits now.

If Congress fails to renew enhanced premium tax credits for 2026, 267,000 veterans nationwide could lose affordable health coverage — and many will become uninsured altogether.

💸 For most of us, rising costs means household budgets are being stretched to their limits.

Heaping on more health care costs is the last thing North Carolinians need. Congress can stop health expenses from skyrocketing by renewing enhanced Premium Tax Credit!

Leaders in other states are stepping up to make sure that funds are available for families struggling with rising food costs. Will our lawmakers in the #NCGA return to Raleigh to make sure people have food on the table in November or sit ideally by as NC faces a hunger crisis?
October 30, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Did you know that in every county in NC, at least 1 in 10 residents faces food insecurity? No one should go hungry because they can’t afford food. The Trump Admin must release emergency funds to continue food assistance now!

October 30, 2025 at 3:30 PM
The Trump Admin claims they can’t use federal contingency funds, otherwise known as emergency funds, to continue SNAP benefits in November.

That’s FALSE. What’s real is the harm they’ll cause for North Carolinians. In some NC counties, 1 in 3 residents receives #SNAP.
October 29, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Today is the #SNAPDayOfAction, and we need you to join us and act now.

42 million Americans are at risk of losing SNAP benefits on Nov 1st. USDA has a contingency fund but hasn't released it. Contact your Members of Congress today!

High grocery costs are already stretching budgets to their limits. Next month, 1.4 million North Carolinians could see their grocery bills skyrocket. President Trump must release the funding NC’s counting on to keep delivering #SNAP assistance that helps NC families.

Passing a state budget that addresses the needs of North Carolinians should be top priority for NC lawmakers. Let your lawmakers know that they must come back to office and approve a well-being budget now: NCBudget.org/ProtectNC

Instead of focusing on what North Carolinians need most, NC lawmakers continue to postpone passing a comprehensive state budget that would invest in our future and stop giving tax cuts to corporations & the rich.
