Devils advocate: "adequate" involves bulldozing a beloved arena that underwent a major renovation a while, but not long time, ago.

Realist: this would have been easier if the guy whose name is on the rink was interested.

Conspiracy theoriest: a regent is building herself a new rink soon...

Does he make more noise than heavy metal?

Aye one point the benches were on opposite sides of the ice, so you likely wouldn't have to deal with jumping into the offensive zone during the 2nd period (long change.)

The NHL forced them to rectify the setup at some point in the 80s

By a looooong shot number one. It was filmed in the most Detroit of Detroit eras (King Coleman and his band of Merry Brother in Laws.), the tractor trailer chase covers lots of very visible Detroit landmarks, a cameo by Gil Hill (proably politically arranged), and Foley is accurately represented.

Especially because the Grosse Pointe / Detroit border is STARK.

(And i mean DEEP in Ford lore. Like "understands why Spanish tile roofs are strangly common in Dearborn" and "what those giant concrete things are over the railroad tracks near Allen Park are" deep.)

I frequently did Halloween nights, but sadly that has gotten so popular that the proletariat has little shot at tickets, museum members snatch up all up VERY quickly.

(And really, I'm versed enough in Ford lore that i'm probably disappointing members of my family by not being a member.)

I mean, it is, but it's also disappointing most of the time. You WANT to find a weird, leaky microwave thats bringing the network down but usually you just find Access Point bleed from different floors and clients that decide that THAT signal, not the AP in the room, is better.

Snow is heavy, wet, and falling fast at times. Not good driving-in snow for sure.

I've done walkarounds with spectrum analyzers tracking down enterprise wifi issues. 2.4ghz is unlicensed spectrum so it's anything goes. Old microwaves, cordless phones.

Its very Egon Spengler work, wandering around pointing a tricorder looking thing at the microwave...
