Gamer, maker, geek, gardener, retired software developer and sound engineer. She/her. I mostly post pictures of nature, a few cats, and TTRPG things.

All photographs are my own except reposts.
I feel the same way. If the lot gets too bad, there's probably one of those giant heat islands half a block away where you can park and walk.

Standing in line to see A New Hope. (5 years old.)

Mom and I sneaking popcorn into the dollar theater because we could afford to buy theirs.

Leaving the theater after seeing Jurassic Park with friends and we all looked up.

Watching Citizen Kane in a dark, dead quiet theater full of film students.

I am so sorry. I know those emotional swings are exhausting for you and I hope you get some quiet time with the kitties to help you get through this. 🫂

I love you Larian and I am 100% looking forward to another Divinity game. (I knew it!) But I'm not sure I can watch that a second time. Egad. 🥶

Now comes the part where we have to wait 3 or 4 years.

Which is getting difficult.

E.g., I bought an expensive Roomba to help keep cat hair and paw dirt under control, but with their bankruptcy it will probably stop working. More fool I; I thought the information it learned was stored on board.

No wonder vinyl records are making a comeback.

Movies are completely different in the dark with a bunch of people.

I think a lot of gamers get too hung up on graphics. Really pretty is great to see, but then you see breakout smash hits like Valheim. It's the gameplay, guys, not the pretty pictures.

I'm afraid I still use some of those.

Not exciting, but I replaced my tiny little jeweler's screwdrivers. The old set lasted 30 years but eventually the tiny ends get damaged.

It's only too many if you plan to sleep anytime soon.

Exactly. I also have THAT store but I won't go inside. Michael's fabric is a joke. One of the older Walmart's in town still has a fabric section, limited as it is. (Not that Walmart is a bastion of good corporate practices.)

Ordering swatches online until you find the one that works is painful.

Joann's put almost every independent fabric store within 150 miles of here out of business while selling (at least here) a small selection of terrible quality fabric. Only 1 high end quilt fabric shop remains.

I never liked Joann's but it was all we had left when you needed a quick notion!

It's hard for us to understand here, too.

US based. Without ACA, the two of us would pay $1700/ month for a plan that doesn't over dental, eyes, nor a dime on anything until we max out our deductible at $14k. To put that in perspective, it's over twice what we spend on groceries & utilities.

Painful for us, utterly out of reach for most.

There's the option of getting an adult cat already used to dogs.

One of mine waits outside the shower to lick the shower door when it opens.

And for the love of fruit, do not buy that goo in a can people.

Cranberries are underrated and deserve more than 1 day a year of viral fame .

I may be wrong, but I think that's satire. I hope that's satire.
