I think this was primarily because of my brother finding his Christmas presents early one year, worried that he wouldn’t get anything because he knew “the secret”. I never saw it as conditional, just that once we outgrew the belief, Christmas presents were from family, not Santa.

My mom always told us we got presents from Santa because we believed in Santa. If friends’ families didn’t believe (i.e. cultural differences but she never said that) they didn’t get presents and that was ok. Also, if you stop believing in Santa, he stops coming. So, better to believe.

Teachers are also no longer on the “professional” list.

For the first time, yesterday, I heard someone outright saying the troop presence (of any kind) is because he fears an uprising against him. They aren’t there to fight crime, they’re not even in the part of D.C. where crime is worst. They’re patrolling the area around the monuments and White House.

Trump took a bullet to the head?? Seriously?? No scars, no tissue damage, fake blood. It was very well-rehearsed theater for the MAGA crowd. SS agents helped to get photographers in place to capture the perfect shot afterwards.
