Interesting watching/listening to/reading the growing hype around this Eng squad. Are they, as the likes of Care & Monye have suggested, a team of World class players now finally moving in the right direction? Or are they simply an average team, which has to date benefitted from good fortune…? 1/x
Christophe Ridley & his TMO completely bottling that check on 40 minutes. Could well have been a penalty try & Yellow Card. Spencer rightly enraged. Ridley as indifferent to the Laws as the many others from his Union.

Austin Healy is an idiot. Just complete & utter garbage start to finish. Now he’s spouting something about the physics of players competing in the air, as though he ever jumped for a ball in his midget life. Non-stop nonsense, presumably because we’re watching a Saracens high ball kick simulator.

Bit disappointed not to see Andy O-C in the Saracens lineup today. Hopefully, that Tonga cheap shot on his leg hasn’t left any lingering issues. Still marvel at Saracens (and Eng) persisting with Earl at Seven (or Eight), when to me almost everything about him just screams ‘Six’!

Technically, because it was an act in breach of the laws of the sport, it is a police matter.

How many rugby pundits will discuss this in terms of a rugby ban, and how many will call it out for a vicious assault in need of legal investigation? This wasn’t some ‘grey area’ flashpoint punch. You don’t get to try to blind another sportsman with impunity just because you’re on a rugby pitch.
Etzebeth is looking directly at his opponent. He has a thumb in his opponent’s eye socket & is continuing to press into the socket. Frankly, I’m uncertain whether this matter should even end with a long playing ban. This was a violent, potentially career ending assault & needs investigating as such.

As bad as sports social media often is, and as prepared as I typically am, it’s still been truly depressing to read the volume of comments from SA rugby supporters defending or otherwise seeking to diminish what was a clear & deeply malicious eye gouge. Nasty stuff all round, from all parties.

It was great to see Dave Reddin with a smile on his face, celebrating the pay rise with a nice day out in Cardiff.

Pob lwc a llongyfarchiadau, Dave!

Alongside offering a higher standard of general rugby, team rotation during European windows also helps make the URC more competitive. Despite all the doom & gloom it’s win-win!
Terrific results for Scarlets and Cardiff, seriously brave showing from the Ospreys and the Dragons absolutely robbed.

Perhaps the WRU are the ones who should be cut?

The WRU AGM is TODAY. If you’re a club rep, please don’t let the WRU board and the clowns who run our game get away with it. You have the power to get rid of all of them. Please use it now.

While in many ways the European Cup is effectively ‘Test Match-lite’. For me, what ultimately makes it the better product is teams don’t have to routinely go to the air on attack. They still run with it. Toulouse, for example, may exit off the boot - but they’ll go wide wide without hesitation too!

Imagine being Racing Head Coach. You’re playing TLS away from home, the first forty is in the red & your team is well in the game. You’ve prepped your halftime talk & are seconds from going into the Changing Room - only for an absolute lunatic to headbutt an opponent & kill your chances stone dead.

That's a disgrace from the commentators
"Sacha F-M as commentators are now calling him as the name is so hard to pronounce"

His name is completely phonetic, so not hard to pronounce at all if you practice it. AKA, doing your job.

Do Wales supporters realise those things were connected?
I’ve still watched Wales win more Grand Slams in my lifetime than the equivalent Irish or Scottish fan has in that time.

The next ten years will be miserable, and it should never have been allowed to get this bad - but I still wouldn’t swap 2005-19 for being Scotland or Ireland-level today.
Is it better to have loved (Welsh rugby in the 00s/10s) and to have lost (Wales in the 20s), or never to have loved at all? #WALvRSA

As toothless as I’ve ever seen a Glasgow side.

Dupont is back. There it is.

Hell of a try from the young TLS Belgian* FB! (Surely going to be non-Belgian in a few years if he keeps this up!)
November 29, 2025 at 9:18 PM
Rowe off, starting Ten to Centre & pushing Smith to the Wing? On the bright side, I’m not sure Glasgow can possibly get any more disjointed or haphazard!
November 29, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Etzebeth’s gouge feels like a reckoning for rugby. Not CTE related, so devoid of any ongoing furore around concussive impacts. Yet still fundamental. It’s VERY clearly deliberate - and he has a history too. Anything not starting at max weeks would be an absolute disgrace.
November 29, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Scarlets still getting away with hilariously illegal stuff around the tackle & breakdown area. Officials seemingly oblivious to it, while Glasgow’s youngsters apparently too naive to manage it. Never going to be easy with offensively biased Ben Whitehouse involved, of course.
Going to be a long auld night if the Officials turn a blind eye to this level of Scarlets nonsense at the breakdown.
November 29, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Incredibly dumb flying headbutt at the end of the half by the Racing Hooker. Straight red, with the ball about to be kicked off field for halftime. Madness.
November 29, 2025 at 8:51 PM
There’s no denying Ntamack can occasionally glide across the field in a momentary exhibition of broken field rugby. But anyone arguing he’s ’one of the best Tens in the World’, is shockingly ill-informed. The sheer number of games where he barely impacts play is galling. Let alone his error count.
