Safe streets advocate
And the transportation dept, at the behest of the fire dept, has recently standard mandating “mountable” traffic circles with curb heights so low as to be functionally equivalent to paint. And neighbors are unwilling to allow them to remove stop signs. The worst of both worlds.

Wanna stick it to Trump and live up to the Paris Accords, California? Stop driving so much *and* tell your city council's to build bus and bike lanes instead of throwing away money on car infrastructure.

One thing I’ve found to be convincing are illustrations of what you want the street to look like. Pictures really do speak 1000 words. My wife created a visualization of a Slow and Low Traffic zone for a demo project we want to propose.

I personally prefer the urbanist oriented Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, depicting a direct train line from Denver to LA. Love that Segal felt compelled to ride it Mumbai style

Insane how one car hitting a power line can knock out power to an entire neighborhood, forcing PG&E and Public Works to scramble to restore power. And it's just like .. a normal Wednesday

I’ve been waiting to show someone these pics I took of a “kei class” fire truck at a car show in SF. Recently retired from service after 30 years of fighting fires in a tiny mountain town near Nagano. Need these everywhere in the Bay Area.

The NTSB graphic on car speeds vs pedestrian fatality rates hides a crucial fact: injury collisions are 10x fatal ones, and can be life altering. Oaklands Highland Hospital is constantly treating traffic victims with broken arms/legs and head trauma. Particularly children and the elderly.
