I’ve been trying to think of why the outright celebration of cruelty feels so jarring.

It’s real “mask off” stuff, and is emblematic of something more.

It smacks of an outright elite rejection of liberalism and its broader values. In turn, it also erodes those values, socially.

The gravity of evidence so far points toward these policies having *crowded in* investment.
