Here in DC we could use some help. The House must pass the DC Local Funds Act or we take a $1.1 B budget hit (it's our local revenue, needs Congress' approval). Please call your Reps to ask that they support the District of Columbia Local Funds Act of 2025 and ask Spkr Johnson to bring it for a vote

The Republican continuing resolution would strip Washington DC of over $1B of local money that we already allocated (in a balanced budget)- slashing funding for schools, transit, & public safety mid-fiscal year. Please call your senators; tell them to vote NO!

House votes for $1 billion in D.C. cuts while seeking to avert shutdown
It is unclear what additional avenues remain for D.C. to advocate for a reversal of the cuts as the bill heads to the Senate.

FDR helped preserve a capitalist economic system in the US by constructing public goods that would buffer working class folks from economic (and other forms of) privation. Trump is in the process of trashing them. What happens next? (Spoiler alert: people suffer...)

Daughter B: Yes.

The Washington, DC "Not My President's Day" rally organizers (50501 and Project Revolution) were prepared for a few hundred attendees at the Capitol Reflecting Pool on the Mall today. At peak attendance, we had a couple-few thousand.

Citizens of Washington, DC do not have voting representation in Congress. If you do have Reps and Senators who can vote, please make sure you call yours to remind them to do their job: Congress controls funding, and the executive branch should not be choosing not to fund programs Congress has funded
