Building pod.link ✦ Sr. Product Designer at linktr.ee ✦ Full of information. Some of it’s actually useful. ✦ he/him
If you use Google as spell check, has it gotten worse lately? Tapping the “Did you mean ___?” link looks correct at first glance, but the search box reverts once you tap into it.

Living in Chicago means you don’t need to follow sports for a home game to turn traffic or transit into chaos. So, I built a single-serving site that answers the question: Is there a home game today?
homegame.today/cubs.
Chicago Cubs — Yes | homegame.today
Yes, today’s game at Wrigley Field is scheduled for 6:40 PM.

All these Wordle clones, but imagine an alderman guessing game for Chicago. Call it: Wardle

I’m working on a project that displays Unicode characters like “☰ Trigram For Heaven.”

Turns out that the names aren’t available in JavaScript, so I added a dependency to fetch them. It’s kinda wild how much bigger it is than the rest of my codebase. 🤯

Upgrading to oversized towels at home ruined hotel showers for me. I repeatedly forgot to lower my expectations. Then my first shower of each trip ends with a disappointing reality check.

Today, I’m thrilled to share that Spotify has returned Podlink to my care! After four and a half years, Podlink is back with its original founder, and I’m excited about what’s ahead.

@grafera.zone FYI, the Bluesky link on your website is pointing to your old handle. (Switching to a custom domain doesn’t hold it for you.)

Opening Slack for the first time after a holiday break and seeing the ⚠️ icon over my workplace’s instance will always create a pit in my stomach.

On my flight today, I watched The Departed (2006) and M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap (2024) simultaneously via passengers in the row before mine. I may not have heard any of the audio, but I feel entitled to partial credit in Letterboxd.

I’m so unnecessarily annoyed with this article. After reading 1300 words, I don’t think the average reader could accurately articulate *why* Bluesky has taken a different approach to verification.
Bluesky is now big enough it has to grapple with a problem that nearly every platform before it has also faced: how to handle verification. I wrote about why its current approach is flawed, and talked with @hunterw.bsky.social about his valiant effort to verify notable accounts himself.
Bluesky has a verification problem
The influx of new users to Bluesky has opened up new opportunities for scammers and impersonators hoping to capitalize on the attention.

I’ve got less than 50 posts on Bluesky, but somehow, my following count has just surpassed my Twitter. 🤷‍♂️

Nothing humbles me like losing something I was literally just holding. Spent hours hunting for my mug—checked every room, every surface, even the fridge. Eventually found it in the microwave, proving I still haven't quite mastered object permanence. 🤦‍♂️

I have a lot of fun shooting product photography of my partner’s ceramics, and it kills me that no one gets to see them in their hi-res glory.

Marvel Snap for PC ran just fine on my old Intel NUC—until updates made it lag. Thought it'd finally push me to build a real PC…

Until I realized I'm so Apple-pilled that I forgot I could just upgrade my RAM 🫠 Three hours and $50 later, I've got 4× more RAM, and problem solved!

Her, talking from the next room:
"SeatGeek is reputable, right? 🧐"

Me, mishearing her:
"Beautiful? 🤔 Yeah I like their UX and aesthetic better."

Her, exasperated:
"😅 This kind of misunderstanding could only happen with you."

At some point, I started ignoring my laptop's Low Battery warnings. Que sera, sera. When it inevitably dies, I close the lid, plug it in, and move on.

However, macOS refuses to stop chiming every few seconds until I wake it up and log back in. Does anyone know how to solve this?
