2nd. We asked Aurora to model what would happen if we 'scrapped net zero' and leaned into fully unabated gas - it would be more expensive for billpayers than a renewable energy dominated system.

I should say, this isn't the end of the story. Govt will need to continue to keep going if it wants to overhaul planning for offshore wind. For example, DEFRA will need to clarify policy around seabirds, resourcing of the planning system will need to increase etc. But the momentum there.

The MRF will be funded by offshore wind farms, and will take forward strategic/co-ordinated measures to support the development of the natural environment.
A boost to nature whilst providing certainty for wind farm developers. A win win for nature, investment, bills, and climate change.
