Ran our RMeS workshop on web archives last week with students mostly new to this type of source, resulting in plenty of moments that showed how much is behind a single archived website. A big thank-you to Anat Ben-David for the afternoon session, and to RMeS and Susan Aasman for co-organising!

📣 Call for contributions! @anya-shchetvina.bsky.social and I are editing a collaborative glossary on internet imaginaries.
We’re looking for short entries (500–1000 words) that unpack research concepts used to study how the internet has been imagined over time.

Last week, I presented methodological research at RESAW25, arguing to foreground source criticism when working with old websites as historical sources. It highlighted the importance of close reading amongst increasingly datafied research strategies! Excited to see conversations continue at RESAW27🖱️

Spending two days at the @kb.nl KB_Datalab, exploring their archived websites.
Web archive research often means travelling to sit behind another screen—but the lab’s setting and research opportunities make it worth it ✨🖱️📀
