Hello all! I'm Nate and I've been a Datacenter NOC tech for over 15 years. I LOVE datacenters and I love BGP/routing. Been growing my home homelab/Datacenter for learning and hosting Linux ISO's. Goal is to host repo's for all major Linux distributions!

Just tested the failover on pfsense and all is good! Only about 10 seconds of downtime for things to kick over to my old connection! Should be good to go during the beta test if any issues arise!

20G is online! I only have 10Gbps devices so 10Gbps is the fastest I can get currently to one device!

Hopefully my last 8Gbps speedtest. This is a uncapped XGS-PON connection so I am getting everything shes got.

New pfsense testing with my new SFP28 network card. Loopback tests look good, no errors and links come up at 25G. CPU is a Intel i5 4690k @ 4GHz. Hopefully should be good for +10Gbps throughput!

Per my local IX site (KCIX), my ISP now has 400Gbps of connectivity!! bgp.tools still shows 200Gbps so waiting for that to update to make to official. We have gone from 30Gbps to up to 400Gbps in about a year. They must be seeing massive growth in traffic.

Gonna update pfSense this weekend as well as take down my whole homelab as my ISP is doing some things at my house and they need access to where my Fiber Jack is.

Sadly I’ll be under NDA for my 20Gig. I did ask on what exactly I can share. Still waiting to hear back on that. Things are starting to happen though!

OMG, so I left Sunday to travel for work. Got to my hotel and VPN worked fine. Monday morning I get a text saying another fiber cut in my area and internet is down. It’s back up that evening but VPN still down. Finally get my wife to send me what my current IPv4 address is and it changed!!!

My ISP was out at my house today testing light levels for 25G-PON! Hopefully everything passed and I can get upgraded soon! 20Gig here I come!
