I sometimes record my daily life for postcrossing members.
I am Japanese and my English is poor.
The other day, I had a namero bowl in Chiba's Choshi.
I absolutely love raw fish and namero.
Namero is a dish made by finely mincing horse mackerel or sardines together with miso.

Today is Chiikawa Usagi's birthday, so I displayed his stuffed animal.
Japanese otaku celebrate their favorite characters' birthdays like this and enjoy it.

February is the coldest month in Japan, yet the card section of stationery shops is already beginning to turn the color of cherry blossoms.
I promptly bought the cherry blossom pattern from the Tabineko series.

I recently visited the Ushiku Daibutsu in Ushiku, Ibaraki.
This Great Buddha is a new standing statue built in 1992, standing 120 meters tall.
I am a Buddhist, but I also believe in Japanese deities and visit shrines. When I die, I will be buried with a Buddhist funeral.

Last week was a busy one for Sailor Moon fans. Various convenience stores collaborated with Sailor Moon to offer numerous collectible prizes. Fans bought lots of snacks to collect all the different types.
I only collected the clear files.

Stickers are incredibly popular in Japan right now. They're especially popular with children and their parents, who are scrambling to get their hands on them. Puffy stickers are the most popular, but regular stickers are also selling well.
The photo shows an empty shelf.

This is the Pokémon Center on Character Street.
A stationmaster-themed Pikachu greets me here.
There are plush toys available only here.

Tokyo Character Street in the Tokyo Station underground mall is one of my favorite places. It's full of cute things that make me feel all excited.
At the Sumikko Gurashi shop, I found postcards featuring famous Japanese woodblock prints paired with the characters.

I'm at the Dragon Ball Store on Tokyo Station's Character Street. I came to buy the postcards that were sold out last time.
I managed to buy them!

I've lined up some New Year-themed Chiikawa stuffed animals in my room. My absolute favorites are the three wearing kimonos. They're arcade prizes, so the craftsmanship isn't the best, but their formal kimono attire is incredibly cute and feels very New Year-like.

The other day I went to Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture and ate Kanazawa-style oden. Oden is a type of stewed dish.
Kanazawa is renowned as a city of fine cuisine, celebrated for its refined flavors. The oden at this shop, considered a famous oden restaurant, was absolutely delicious.

I bought some postcards that are trending among Demon Slayer fans. They're so popular they're sold out now.
I won't be short on postcards to send to anime fans for a while. I also bought some stamps on a flea market app while I was at it!

Today my husband and I went to our first shrine visit of the year. Japanese people visit shrines or temples at the start of the year to pray for safety throughout the year. It's actually customary to go during the first three days of the New Year, but we're lazy, so our greeting to the gods was late

The other day, I had postcards of Matsue Castle and Izumo Grand Shrine stamped with scenic postmarks.
Unfortunately, the castle postmark came out a bit faded. Still, the postal worker handled it for free despite being busy, so I can't complain.

This morning I had business at Tokyo Skytree, so I ate at a tsukemen restaurant called "Rokurinsha" on the restaurant floor.
It's a popular spot that always has a line, but I went right after opening so I didn't have to wait.
Tsukemen involves dipping the noodles into the soup to eat.

The other day I had lunch at Banya, a popular seafood restaurant in Kyonan Town, Chiba.
I had a seafood rice bowl, fried horse mackerel, and namero. I always end up ordering the same things. But that's just how it is—these are my favorites.

The special postmark I requested by mail for January 2nd has arrived.
It features this year's zodiac animal, the horse. The character in the center of the horseshoe represents the horse.
Since I have three copies, I plan to use two as maxi cards for Postcrossing.

Have you heard of the anime Evangelion? It's a very famous work in Japan. The area around Hakone appears in it. That's why they sold all kinds of Evangelion souvenirs. Of course, I bought a postcard set.

Yesterday I went to Owakudani in Hakone, Kanagawa. This place was formed by volcanic activity 3,000 years ago. Even now, smoke with the smell of sulfur billows up.
From here, Mount Fuji looks incredibly beautiful.

This is the meal from the inn I stayed at the other day.
Accommodation rates were high at year-end, so I couldn't stay at a very nice place.
But the food was delicious, especially the Wagyu beef sukiyaki and the steamed abalone.

I bought the tea lucky bag I get every year again this year.
It contains twice the value in tea bags.
I chose a set where I can enjoy various flavors.

One of the joys of New Year's is the "lucky bag." It's a bag filled with items worth more than the price paid. There are various lucky bags containing clothing, bags, miscellaneous goods, food, and more.
I bought a lucky bag of sweets, which is a safe bet.

I visited Matsue Castle, a national treasure located in Matsue, Shimane.
This castle was built 400 years ago. The old, authentic castle exudes great dignity and a magnificent aura.
Matsue is far from major cities, and there were hardly any foreign tourists.

This morning's TV show was buzzing with excitement over the live broadcast of the New Year's sunrise.
The sight of the sun rising from the summit of Mount Fuji is called "Diamond Fuji." It's a truly special view.

I recently visited a very auspicious place.
It was Izumo Taisha shrine in Shimane.
This is a very famous shrine known for its blessings in matchmaking.
It is also said that every year around November, all the gods from across Japan gather here to hold a meeting.
