Today in #SillyPangrams: PENDITENCE. That’s when someone is about to apologize but hasn’t yet, or when you’re waiting for an apology that isn’t forthcoming, as in “Her marriage was a 25-year exercise in *penditence*.” #FakePangrams #NYTSpellingBee

Today’s #SillyPangram: GOALHEN. This alternate for “Tiger Mom” never really caught on, maybe because it was easily confused for “Soccer Mom.” #NYTSpellingBee #FakePangrams

Got this book, Twinless Twin, by Dean Marshall Tuck, in today’s mail from University of Nebraska Press. Didn’t order it, don’t know the writer or anyone they thank or anyone who blurbed it. But thanks to whoever sent it to me!

WARRIORBAN: Huh. This is some kind of anti-war strategy. It definitely has nothing to do with how a Sacramento Kings fan might feel about Golden State lol #SillyPangrams #NYTSpellingBee

Today’s silly pangram: UNWONTONING (alt. UNWONTONNING). Obscure, gerund form of UNWONTON, meaning to remove wontons from or fail to put wontons in soup, often confused with UNWANTON. #FakePangrams #NYTSpellingBee

Also bought, to keep, not use, this instantly recognizable Chris Ware-designed sheet commemorating postal workers. The same mail carrier is in every stamp as she delivers mail through town (& seasons — her clothes change!) until she goes home for night. So charming. #USPS #PostageStamps

Walked to local post office on Alhambra for stamps. Love their friendly staff. Bummed to learn they were all sold out on the Good Night Moon stamps, but got Hank Aaron & Baby Wild Animals instead. (No thanks to Sponge Bob & Wm F Buckley!) #USPS 1/2

Lots of fun choices this morning, but I’m going with PODGROAN, which is when a group of whales makes a sound in unison but can also mean any sort of collective sigh, especially in exasperation, as in “His dad jokes were always met with a podgroan.” #FakePangrams #SillyPangrams #NYTSpellingBee

Today’s silly pangram: GUYTIEING.

*Obviously* this refers to the act of tying a guyline, not whatever your dirty mind has imagined. #NYTSpellingBee #FakePangrams #SillyPangrams

Not sure what this means but I can think of some people it might apply to. #NYTSpellingBee #FakePangrams #SillyPangrams

Every day I play @nytimes.com Spelling Bee & entertain myself with fun pangrams that aren’t actual words #SpellingBee #Pangram #FakePangrams

Amused/dismayed by how much I relate to this at this morning’s Commuter piece @electricliterature.com by @rlmaizes.bsky.social (and yes, I had to “Click to enlarge” in order to read it 😂) electricliterature.com?p=301992
