7) BOTTOM LINE
You are responsible for saying yes or no to training use on (consumer) Claude. Client confidentiality is non-negotiable, so keep sensitive work in approved enterprise environments.

6) TO DO TODAY
◽️ Check your Claude Privacy setting and make your choice.

◽️ Remind your team to do the same.

◽️ Update your firm’s AI guidance to specify which tools and tiers are approved for client matters.

5) Old chats are excluded unless you reopen them. Deleted chats are not used.

For confidential work, keep matters in enterprise channels only, such as Claude for Work or API on Bedrock/Vertex, which are outside this policy.

4) HOW TO OPT OUT
1. Open Claude

2. Profile → Settings → Privacy

3. Toggle “Help improve Claude” off

4. Accept the updated terms

Being a paid user does not exempt you. Consumer tiers still require a decision.

3) This applies to Free, Pro, Max, and Claude Code consumer tiers. Business, Gov, Education, and API use are not affected.

2) I love Claude, but I don't love that this privacy setting is turned on by default.

Unless you opt out, your future chats and code can be used to train Claude, which means Claude's database that it uses to provide AI output to anyone.

Are you following these people? If not, do. I didn't say invite them to connect. Sometimes, we need to take small steps. Sometimes we don't.

2️⃣ Next, turn on the notification bell for those who are the most important to you. (Cont'd)...

DO THESE TWO THINGS
1️⃣ What are the names you've placed on your Strategic Client Connection List? If we haven't worked together (yet) and you don't have this worksheet, then just write the names down.
