Because if you’re Hispanic they are going to remind you it is much cheaper and easier to just take a trip to Mexico for dental work instead.

All of these are consequences of an ignorant citizenry. We the people elected the president. We the people elected congress and congress approves the scotus appointments. Elections have consequences and people need to be held accountable for their votes. Staying informed is a mandatory civic duty.

What’s left to engage with when the themes are worn on the sleeve and the characters aren’t engaging to you? You’re just kinda left sitting there twiddling your thumbs slowly waiting for things to happen as expected or you can start asking questions that make people stop watching things with you lol

Subversion is the only respite in this hellish mind, but short of unhinged comedies there isn’t much left to “subvert expectations” on when most media just defaults to the obvious stuff you can easily guess if you’ve seen even a single movie or show before.

I wish I had a brain that could engage with media without asking and answering several hundred questions through basic pattern recognition before the reveals happen. It renders all narrative twists or reveals ruined for me subconsciously hours before it happens.

I do like the cinematography and the choreography. Impressive in getting people to move so precisely with relaxed intention. It’s really great directing. Glad about some of the choices made in subtle and environmental storytelling. It’s not a bad series by any stretch, better than most movies imo.

I’m sure this series is fun for some people but it’s giving me nothing to latch onto. I don’t care for/about the main character, the threat is comically winnable and every supporting character just bogs down the already painfully slow pace.

It is frustrating that these are often monikers of overly for-profit or scam (AI gen slop) sites that should naturally be avoided. But google has fucked itself up so royally since the death of pageranks that you cannot even find real sites anymore. 2000’s me would hate using cell phones however lol

I think like most public services and infrastructure that gets converted into a privatized industry; it immediately feels worse and grimy. Like someone both wastes money and also somehow has none. The internet is so shallow and useless now. Social media is fake, web searching is useless, why bother?

Take this page for example. I just want to know how to make caffeinated eggnog and I’m fighting for my life here just to read the directions between three fucking ads?? How is this worth it? I’m either getting an ad blocker or buying a book instead lol
November 23, 2025 at 5:51 PM
It probably feels easier to swallow when you were born into this hell than having lived before it. Ads used to be real limited. Relegated to to the top or sides only of a page, and often only one or two max for fear of making people avoid you. Shit was way more tolerable back then.
November 23, 2025 at 5:51 PM
But right now it’s better than anything else the average person uses. You want a recipe? Every paragraph is broken up by a video ad or some full screen graphic. It’s fucking annoying and shit. Oh use an app instead? Nope, that has a subscription now. Every inch of the internet costs something.

Why wouldn’t I use this nice clean ad free chatbot? Sure in like a year it will be no different; companies paying for the AI to shill their shit inappropriately when asking how to grieve your dead dog by telling you chewy has a sale on treats or something.
