On the other hand, it's a result of centuries of medicine practiced in a way where pregnant woman is not a person, but an object of medical intervention, for decades done without even consulting or informing the patient. This movement sounds like bizarre take on women getting back the agency.

For me, the first question that comes to mind is HOW COME. In a highly advanced world where medical care eliminated and/or mitigated most pregnancy related dangers; women decide to go against it and have their pregnancies unsupervised and births run wild. It's at least unexpected.
