He leaned back slightly, out of habit more than a need for comfort. "Huh?" His voice reached Poh as if from the other end of a long tunnel. Slowly, his senses returned to him, and he found himself looking down at the crumbs dotting the once neatly folded napkin that lined the bottom of a now-empty basket. "The sandwiches," Ardbert elaborated. "Killing a Lightwarden must work up quite the appetite! I wasn't expecting you to finish all of those in one sitting. That, or the Exarch is as good at cooking as he is at being inscrutable – though I suppose it's rather hard to muck up sandwiches." "Oh," Poh said simply. Truthfully, he hadn't been expecting himself to scarf down the entire basket. He hadn't intended to. He wanted to savor them; they represented one of those little touches of care that he appreciated from the Crystal Exarch. He found it touching that, despite the magnitude of their troubles and his many responsibilities, the man had taken the time to ensure that Poh had a fresh meal. Such a small but endearing gesture. Unfortunately, it appeared he had been been hungrier than he expected. He certainly hadn't felt hungry after slaying Titania – he'd left the faerie castle with a sloshing nausea. Maybe that had been an empty stomach. Or all of the fae magic. Or both. "Well, they were delicious." He tried to laugh it off with good cheer. His ear twitched a little – it wasn't a lie, but if he was being honest, he barely remembered tasting them. What he did remember had been good, though. He would have to find a way to express his appreciation to the Exarch later. Maybe he could return the favor. What sort of food would a man like him prefer? Someone had to know something of his tastes. Surely, he wasn't so secretive about every aspect of his life.

Lejo's accent is the in-game equivalent of Finnish. Golmore takes up so much of the continent that I see the accents as being more varied than just Icelandic.

It's mellowed as he's become fluent in Eorzean Common, but put him in a room full of viera and it comes back in full force.

Vitally important to me that when people read my fics where Lejo calls Steak Zhett, it's not implying a deep interpersonal connection where he has been given permission: it's because he made friends with Steak's sister first, and is just following her lead (to do otherwise would be rude).
