I'm a nurse who loves to draw and paint. I don't sell my art. It’s a private luxury. Weird, no

Merging the abstract and the figurative is a thing I love. This acrylic painting is from last year. Look at the transparency of acrylics

I've stolen some time today for working on a portrait and doing some quick sketches.

That feels so good

Today in my sketchbook. Made me think about the song Dope by Synapson

I've been drawing portraits today. A long one I started yesterday and others, short poses these.

I love to alternate both. It gives me distance to better see what the long one needs and shows me that fiddling too much is not a good idea

From sketchbook to painting/collage on my old playgrounds.

I zoomed and copied my drawing and cut it out to make it big (40×30cm). The other one, I only cut out the reference and put it on the playground

And it changed 🙃😊

In my sketchbook today.

The reference is from today's Steve Huston video on YouTube.

First, I wanted to get the proportions right. Now, I want to do it in charcoal and to learn how he does the shadows. I love his work.

Process pic. Life shapes us, and we shape our lives by our view on it. That's what that drawing makes me think about

I'm so enjoying drawing with the eraser. It's scary and exciting

Notan finished as best as I could.

Now, it's rubber time. There's a big chance that I ruin the whole again 😅

I've been drawing while a live call.

Not much merit, though. I cut out the reference and was checking all the time 🤫

#drawing #21aweek #figuredrawing #art @8paint wish you lots of students for your fabulous course

Oilpainting from 2023.

I was so happy while painting, and it still gives me a lot.

It was made during the portrait workshop from @8paint.bsky.social

Another Vanderpoel study.

I stopped because I thought I had butchered it.

Then, I asked for help from my art buddies. They helped me see it differently. They told me to put the reference away for a while. Now, I feel much better about it, and I can move on.

I love the art community !

Hello fellow artists 🙂 I love to draw and paint online and am happy to be here

Yesterday I discovered a 19th century artist - John Vanderpoel. He wrote a book on nude drawing. This book is magnificent and I wanted to do a study. I will definitely make more.
