Pregnant Georgians, medical professionals, & all citizens deserve clarity on how the state treats patients’ bodies & whether ethical care risks prosecution.

Today I am announcing that I am running for Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. I’m running because we need bold leadership who won’t back down from a fight. I will hold the GOP’s feet to the fire and fight to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. I hope you will join me.

As a Muslim woman, I have faced bigotry. I was dismayed that bigotry was displayed in my own Senate chamber today. I am very disappointed that several of my Republican colleagues chose to be disrespectful and rude when I introduced my Imam for chaplain of the day.
