Finally!

My pixels will never be the same.

Yes but TX might draw down the supply enough to not support transmitting. If you’re using a bench supply with meters, it’s easy to see changes when you key. Ya never know with a USB power connection.

Check the power supply and cable, too, especially if you were powering from USB.

Bummer. At those power levels it’s unlikely you would smell smoke or see anything spark. I suppose it’s possible the SWR spiked somehow. Loose connection, something falling onto the dipole.

😆 Straight, but bi-curious? 😆

I saved money from a summer job in 1977 to buy one. Loved that radio. Cost $300 as I recall. I eventually added an outboard digital frequency display.

Well played. Well played.

100% an armed force acting illegally on behalf of a political movement = terrorists.

Well there’s gotta be more to that story!

😂😂

You’re not wrong. The big box stores in east Fairbanks ruined the sky view in that direction >20 miles out. Light pollution drives me nuts.

I feel better knowing that.

Good luck. It’s fun to learn a new alphabet. I minored in Russian in college. I knew the Greek alphabet from my physics studies. Cyrillic is pretty close. Now if I could just crack Armenian…😁

Wow, I’m sorry for that. I have a chronic back issue. I’m going to have to keep track of the Kp index vs pain. The connection makes sense.

Didn’t have a phone, either! Eventually a couple of Good Samaritans called my wife to rescue me. He was a good dog in every other respect. I swear he could sense the aurora somehow. We had very little sky view in our cabin, but he would get anxious and get me to go out when the lights were active. ❤️

I used to regularly drive to the Nordale flats for the aurora views. Good spot! BTW once I had my dog with me. I stepped out of the running vehicle to get a better look. The dog wanted out, too. In the ensuing tussle, he locked the doors! I didn’t have a jacket on. Single digit temps. 😂

Some VE6/VE7 stations popped on 6m FT8 last night. Fleeting appearances, but I managed to work a couple. Did you L48 hams manage any contacts via the aurora?
