The Wilson's Bird-of-paradise is only found on the island of Waigeo. The male birds keep a "court" around a vertical stick completely clear of debris, and should a female be suitably impressed, they perform a hopping dance.

We waited for nearly an hour. Just as we were losing hope, we spotted a dark spot in the bushes.
