Did they fix that bug in iOS where listening to a seamless album (like a live Dead bootleg) inserts a tiny beat between the two tracks?

Pioneer stopped, true, transferring those facilities etc. to a Chinese company. This is why i have (besides 3 external optical drives for my computer) a PS4 & PS3 (Sony stopped supporting CD playback with PS4)

I agree with your general comment about books, but there's a reason I listen to music directly ported onto my iPhone from CDs I ripped to iTunes (I know it's now Music but … c'mon!). Not only no ads, but I can create my own playlists etc. It's true that Apple makes it harder each 'update', but …

Truth be told, the first time I read it I was taking a course on Joyce, and we spent 2 months (of 3) just reading Ulysses, the professor’s voice taking on an—I believe—unconscious Irish lilt if not brogue as he read extracts in class. That’s another help, to read Joyce out loud; the puns are clearer
