Trying to listen to a long video in the backround while working and things start to derail and get weird but you can't place why, only for it to become clear the creator just pushed an unskippable ad without warning... and now you have to stop work to figure out how much of the video was just ads...

ye... & some channels get really obnoxious because they will drop a 14minute video and 4-5minutes will just be them pushing a patreon, dropping a sponsor promo and selling a course. they will either do all of that before addressing what the video was about or splice it up to dodge YT's adskip button

I ended up with 22 because of listening to some new artists before switching my sub over to youtube to dodge all those ads early in the year 😂 I wish it called me old for my love of sinatra rather than say I have a young taste ahaha

this sounds like it could be really useful! I ended up going to youtube because it gave me music free with the sub to get rid of all those horrid ads while checking my favourite art and study channels. might need to export a good txt file list eventually when I go back to buying every last song.

It's calmer and quieter. but plenty are still here, some who left twitter entirely. It's nice to have a place away from all the noise to just chat in peace 🙂

do you have another person set as admin for your discord servers? 🥹 could help if they are able to protect them from something happening and in the worst case would be able to remove your old accouunt to assign your new one 🥲

If the session ends when you leave the page and it's not a maintained access, it's not something to have lasting security concerns over.

But we can't do much of anything on clearsky to begin with yet it's asking for access perms, we don't know what it can do while we are still using the page.

OAuth as a system is fine because better we handle signins on site. I had no issue with app passwords because you can revoke at a single click in your settings. but I have done it only once for a service and it didn't request full access like clearsky. many people don't even use external services.

Important to clarify here that the issue isn't OAuth, better to be doing things on bluesky than on another site. but with the insane over-reach in perms for a service that worked fine without a login at all. clearsky is for tracking blocks and lists, from the public datafeed, not posting.

Stop blaming the platform when you show up and go into everyones replies. If you don't understand the issue, that's your problem. Take your own advice before offering it, move on.
