Also, if Israel did in fact detonate each device individually, and based on precise intel on the targets, it would suggest they knowingly detonated the pager held by 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, killing her (i.e., at least some of their highly precise attacks still amounted to war crimes).

Chief among them is Article 7(2) of Amended Protocol II of the CCW, which prohibits the “use of booby-traps or other devices in the form of harmless portable objects which are specifically designed and constructed to contain explosive material," and which Israel is bound by.

It's sad, but not surprising, that this otherwise highly detailed piece includes only scant mention of the "moral and ethical questions" these attacks raise, and - worse yet - entirely avoids discussing how deeply unlawful they likely were.
