Is 2013 new? Colin Koopman's "Genealogy as Critique" is good too. He connects Foucault to Kant, Deleuze, empricism and pragmatism rather than Derrida and other post-structural stuff.

My hot take is to propagandize people to read William Tilleczek's new work. It's a way of reading Foucault's later work on power that I always thought was true (and taught) but never said with my full chest in a publication until his work (he won the Leo Strauss award for best diss in pol. theory)

That is intriguing I would have thought queer theory would argue the opposite, that possibilities are closed when you retroactively give a social identity to someone who might have thought of their relations as different. Foucault always cautions for instance calling the Greeks "gay" for this reason

It's a wide tent. When I've taught it I go with Warner's "The trouble with Normal", Cohen's "Punks, Bulldaggers and Welfare Queens: the radical potential of queer politics". I feel like some Judith Butler needs to be read, an early essay is "Performative Acts & Gender Constitution"

Your team not being able to beat the Blue Jays' AAA team until the 18th inning (3 am on the East coast) already woke my ass up last night haha.
