I had an indigenous neighbor who I spoke with occasionally and in the course of our conversation King came up and he also had questions in his mind about his indigenous status. At the time I never thought much of it and thought it was rather random but now I understand. I am saddened by this.

Out of curiosity, was he consciously faking his indigenous roots or did he honestly not know? From the many comments that I have read it appears that this Revelation was actually an open secret in the indigenous community.

Out of curiosity, how did you know when even King himself said it came as a surprise to him. I'm very saddened by this.
