I'd like to add the grandma wasn't abusive at all. She was the kid's main carer for the longest time, but bc she wasn't biologically related and now sick, the child got taken away.

Anyways, the system is messed up; and far more children have a support network than what they'd have you believe.

As a foster parent myself, I was chocked to find out I have to fight the system and our case workers in order to keep the little ones villages in their lives. In one instance, we went directly against their order and let the kid see their ailing grandma, almost getting our licence taken away

The last times I travelled with someone (shoutout @loudacid.bsky.social ) it was nice! Like you can have someone around to chat, snuggle with, help you hold your bags/jacket when you go pee; and when either one of us needed a break we could just say it?

Also, at some point around 14:00 I realised my last meal was over 16 hours ago, which wasn't helping with anxiety and low body performance lol

(I had a veggie burger and it did alleviate 60% of my nausea. Who knew?!)

This random woman likely doesn't know how much it meant to me to have someone find me accommodations I wasn't in the space to acknowledge I needed, nor even knew existed.

I'm still anxious and travelling, but I'm also pretty reassured that everything will be alright.
