I'm the burnt out library staff member you were warned about. The many adventures of a tired type 1 diabetic [Tslim x2 & G7].

Chronic Yapper with bad grammar.
What is the point of the to go stands if stores just keep the food behind their counter & dont mark it as complete?

Like if they arent staffed well enough to have food out for pick up then why have a pickup space?

Literally waited 10 min for my food thinking it wasn't ready & it was just sitting.

Is there irony that I had to sit still on the phone with my pump company & thats most likely why I am as high as I am post meal? Yeah. For sure lmao.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court DENIES former county clerk Kim Davis's request for the justices to take up her longshot bid to overturn 2015's Obergefell v. Hodges marriage equality decision. No justice even writes about the request.

Me vs completing something with multiple steps to graduate.

ADHD is the worst.

Now I understand what the youths call a crash out.
Also, this program has made me hate librarians so much that I don't want to ever be one. I knew beforehand but damn the vocational awe & treatment of staff is toxic as hell.
Do I give my program feedback that making me do an internship has made me have suicidal thoughts consistently for the first time in years & want to quit my job? Because the fact that they require an internship for someone working in the field for more than 5 years professionally is fucked up.

It's 3 am, and I just found someone's web page from 1997 for a required class at my college. It's time for bed - I have gone too far away from my goal.

Low blood sugar is like everything is in 8-bit & high blood sugar is like driving at night with astigmatism & everyone has their brights on.

I swear I check mute every time & then randomly returning from groups I am unmuted on zoom after 100% being muted prior.

Good news is after updating like 5 times [even though I had updated last week lol] and shutting it down overnight it was fine the next day. Hoping that it was just a fluke.
Works laptop trackpad has stopped working but I can use a mouse. All I ask of this laptop is to make it through December & its giving me grief 🫠. If I have to transition to a Dell while trying to complete this internship I am going to scream as none of my devices are compatible.

ADHD moment, I got distracted & paced which made my blood sugar tank which was the opposite of an hour ago ☠️.

Me: I keep going low with this breakfast if I prebolus more than 23 minutes or use extended bolus, what if I did a split bolus with a temp basal to stop the lows?

My blood sugar: hahaha so now we are gonna go up fast even though the temp basal is more insulin than the extended bolus would be.

It is quite exhausting how much misinformation is out there about Type 2 diabetes & even more so how common it is that Type 1s promote that misinformation. The fatphobia & ableism against other diabetics isn't going to benefit you in the long run.

Idk man I feel like I get why the FDA limits manufacturers from providing CDCES level quality of diabetes education on their own devices (CGMs & Pumps) but they have way more funding & access than most Endo offices, & often it's the patients who end up losing out because of that.
October 17, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Yes, an affordable basal insulin is great, but most Type 1s who use a pump will not use basal regularly anyway. Though more T1D are MDI, it often is because technology is cost-prohibitive or inaccessible because of education barriers as most pumps will not fix knowledge gaps.

Idk if it is better or worse to know the science behind why something happens & still not be able to stop it lol. Like knowing when/why my digestion changes & still not being able to adjust well enough to prevent a low or high blood sugar.

Being at the scene of a crime [creator turns off comments] while actively reading them & them vanishing feels like I know a secret. Knowing why & what was said, energizing? Like yeah, you did get called out for your misinformation about Type 2 diabetics & you didn't like that.

ADHD is specifically going inside to get a fuel receipt & immediately losing it before you even get back to the car. When the only reason you got the receipt is that you will forget you went to get gas & think someone took your card. I am writing this so I remember that, yes I did get gas today.

I gotta say my program is one of the most inaccessible programs. Randomly uses photocopied chapters, doesn't put instructions or rubrics anywhere, but talks about them like we should know them. Provides little description outside of rubrics at random for assignments. It's so funny because they are

How the fuck did full-time staff do internships in libraries before technology? If I couldn't work on most of this remotely I would simply have to either drop out or quit my job which I need for bare minimum health insurance.

Required internships in the LIS field are quite the barrier.

Update: Endo filled a script for Lyumjev. I may hold off on testing it until I finish grad school [2 months]. Don't want to deal with potential adjustments. Though it will be good to have & test in case the manufacturer's coupons vanish with all the tariffs & Novolog becomes unavailable to me.
Lyumjev insulin is now approved for the Tslim in the US. My endo appointment is tomorrow, so I wonder if I should ask or hold off for a bit.

A1C remains unchanged when switching from CIQ to CIQ+, but it's much easier to prevent highs & it adjusts better for lows than it did beforehand so TIR (& TITR) is better.

Dexcom Clarity still has me roughly .6 higher for GMI (I understand the difference generally,
