Evening viewing recommendation? Before it leaves the Criterion Channel in February, watch Howard Hawks's noir masterpiece THE BIG SLEEP (1946). In their second immortal pairing, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall's innuendo-laden chemistry practically scorches the screen. ❤️‍🔥

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Fairfield Porter's picture (1967) shows a pear tree in blossom and the bright yellow flowers of forsythia bushes in the background. The building just visible beyond the shrubbery is his home in Southampton, New York, the setting for many of his paintings.
